Ajhani Carroll is ERASE Racism’s Education Program Associate, where she serves as the day-to-day lead in managing the Education Equity Initiative, including ERASE Racism’s Student Task Force and Long Island Leaders of Tomorrow Conferences. She brings experience managing educational programs in the United States and abroad, involving both youth and college students – in such varied settings as on campus, in the community, and in incarceration facilities. She has supported civic-engagement and advocacy initiatives addressing systemic inequities for both the American Civil Liberties Union and Common Cause. Her experience also includes research-supported training, service learning and volunteer services, and event coordination.

Ms. Cherenfant joined ERASE Racism with 16 years of accounting experience comprising positions in both for-profit and not-for-profit settings. In 1993 she received a B.B.A., in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. While pursuing her accounting career, Ms. Cherenfant attended The City University of New York where she received her M.S. in Communication Management in 1999. Prior to joining the ERASE Racism staff Sherley was the business manager for a not-for-profit organization on Long Island where she oversaw and managed funds of over 20 million dollars.

Nicole Grennan is ERASE Racism’s Housing Program Associate. She serves as the day-to-day lead in managing the organization’s Inclusive Housing Initiative, including the Long Island Housing Coalition. She previously served as ERASE Racism’s Education Program Associate, managing the organization’s Education Equity Initiative.

Elaine Gross is Founder and President of ERASE Racism, a regional civil rights organization based on Long Island that exposes and addresses the devastating impact of historical and ongoing structural racism, particularly in housing and public school education. It does so through research, policy advocacy, legal action, and educating and mobilizing the public – driving policy change at local, regional and statewide levels and through national coalitions. Under her leadership, ERASE Racism has been recognized locally and nationally for its cutting-edge work.

Kara Pierre is the Administrative Coordinator for ERASE Racism. She is a mission-driven nonprofit operations and technology professional with more than 15 years of experience advancing organizational impact through communications, programs, events, digital platforms, stakeholder engagement, and administration.
