noun-housing-1660622-642C6CSince its founding, ERASE Racism has led region-wide and state-wide efforts to advance fair housing on Long Island through a multifaceted strategy that includes using research to identify and expose impediments to housing equity, educating stakeholders, forming coalitions, and advocating for policies to remedy and prevent racial segregation and discrimination.

ERASE Racism continues to be innovative in its approach, recently developing a unique assessment tool that can quantitatively measure a proposed housing development's potential to reduce segregation and promote racial equity. See below for more on the tool!

 

 

ERASE Racism Launches a New Data Tool to Advance Affordable and Inclusive Housing in New York State

AIHT IconERASE Racism proudly announces the launch of its innovative Affordable and Inclusive Housing Tool (AIHT), a groundbreaking online dashboard designed to guide and advance affordable and inclusive housing initiatives across New York State.

This user-friendly, interactive dashboard utilizes over 30 fair housing variables to:  

1. Identify high-opportunity areas- prime locations for the placement of affordable housing
2. Identify low-opportunity areas that should receive more investments to improve local resources
3. Measure racial segregation throughout the state, and
4. Retrieve information on existing subsidized and multifamily housing.

The AIHT empowers its users to envision opportunities for affordable housing across New York State.
