Eliminating Barriers to Racial Equity

Volunteer

Thank you very much for your interest in volunteering with ERASE Racism. Following are some simple ways you can volunteer your time and resources to further our mission of addressing structural racism on Long Island and advancing equity:

  1. Amplify!
A major part of our work is helping people to understand the unique challenges posed by structural racism on Long Island. The more people understand how structural racism affects everyone, the stronger our movement for a Just Long Island becomes. You can amplify our work by reposting us on social media, sharing our mission and why it matters to you with your network, or even mentioning ER to friends over (socially distant) coffee. Wondering where to start? Check out the resources we have on our website, including cutting-edge research reports, op-eds, and press releases.
  2. Donate!
Becoming an ERASE Racism monthly donor is an amazing way to support our mission to create racial equity on Long Island and beyond! It's easy -- you select the amount and frequency and your bank does the rest.
  3. Be an ER ambassador
An ERASE Racism Ambassador is someone who is inspired by ERASE Racism's mission to take action in their community, either by raising funds or awareness or both, and uses their platform (no matter how big or small!) to engage more people in a conversation about structural racism. ERASE Racism Ambassadors are people who feel passionately about equity and want to make a difference within their communities. Click here to read about some of our past ambassadors.

If you have other ideas for how you might be able to support our organization, we invite you to reach out to info@eraseracismny.org and let us know!
